Happy Little Stampers November Sketch Challenge

Halloween is now behind us, we can put away all the candy, and start thinking turkey. In my family holidays are all about the food, and no holiday is more about the food than Thanksgiving. I mean seriously, what is the first thing that comes to mind when you are asked about Thanksgiving- come on you know it is turkey! Not that I am not grateful for a million things, but I really don't need one special day to be thankful. I am thankful everyday.

My new favorite company is Reverse Confetti. They have some of the best dies and stamps that I have seen in awhile. There is something for everyone. When I saw Pumpkin Patch and saw the pumpkin with "let the stuffing begin" I was sold!!

Happy Little Stamper's sketch challenge this month was the perfect way to show case this fun set.

This card is so going to my brother who hosts Thanksgiving every year. For many years my brother Cliff and I would have "dueling turkeys". We each would make our own turkey with our own special stuffing. Cliff made my mom's traditional stuffing. I went with a sassy cornbread stuffing. If you ask me I won every year, but if you ask Cliff he would say it was him. Sibling rivalry at its best! :)

You have all month to play along with us at the Happy Little Stampers Sketch challenge. I can wait to see what all of you come up with!

The Male Room Challenge #22

I had to go through my stash to find hard wear for today's challenge at The Male Room.

I came across some old Tim Holtz gears. My plan was to use them to create a Christmas tree. Well that was so not working and I had to come up with a plan B.

I kept looking at them and realized they were all different like snowflakes! Thus my card was born.

My best buddy's husband is an avid bike rider. He is out riding for 25 miles or more  most weekends. His birthday is on December 24. This will be the perfect card for him. I showed his wife and she was so jealous that she hadn't thought of this idea first

Soooooo dig out some eyelets, brads or any hardware and show us your creations at The Male Room!

Happy Little Stampers Release Blog Hop

Hey everyone! Exciting news! Kylie over at Happy Little Stampers is celebrating the second release of her stamps with a blog hop!! I am honored and thrilled again to be part of the festivities. There's gonna be all kinds of fun.

THE RULES
Comment on THIS blog post and then hop your way through the list. Easy!
You must comment on every blog in the hop to be eligible to win a prize. Unfortunately some of you didn't comment on the HLS blog for the last hop and were not eligible for the random draw :(

Here we go!

The blog hop will run for one week giving you enough time to hop through and check out what the designers have created.

My first card uses the adorable birds from the "whimsical friends" set, with a twist of course. I used them to create a Christmas card and added the sentiment from "mixed Christmas sentiments"

My second card is from the "birthday friends" set. I say instead of "put a bird on it" "Put a tag on it"!!

Lastly is a quick CAS card, perfect for a guy. It could be easily massed produced with unlimited color combos.

I hope you are inspired by my cards! The designers and I are having so much fun playing with out HLS stamps. Please hop on over to the amazing Bonnie Klass's blog!!!

The Male Room Challenge: Halloween

Have you noticed how many folks are into Halloween these days? People go all out with costumes, decorating their houses. What a great holiday for creativity. It rates up there with Christmas and Valentine's Day.

This week at The Male Room we are challenging you with a Halloween theme. Coffins of fun huh?!!?

Distress inks are perfect for Halloween. You can make such spooky color combos with them. I die cut a circle and sponged it with mustard seed, wild honey, crushed grapes, and chipped sapphire. Splattered a bit of water and I had and awesome background for my spooky scene.

Be afraid, be very afraid!

AAA Cards challenges matches up with the Male Room's this week- Halloween- CAS so I am playing along there also.

I hope you join us at the Male Room and play along with this spooky theme!

The hop to stop (2nd post for today)

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Did you know one out of three women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. That is 33% of all women. Domestic violence can happen to any one. Rich, poor, smart, professional- it doesn't matter.

This is a tough topic for me. I rarely share this with others but, I was one of those 33%. I was lucky. I had strong family support and was able to escape my situation before it became really bad. Other women aren't so lucky.

Becca over at The Damsel in Distress is hosting The Hop to Stop to raise awareness of domestic violence. There are amazing sponsors who are offering some great prizes.

Check out Becca's page to join in the fun and to show your support. All you have to do is make a card that features purple- the color of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

House of Cards October Challenge Texture

Fall has definitely arrived in my neighborhood. It is grey, windy and cold. I think we will be able to go with out the AC tonight!

This month at House of Cards we have a duel challenge:

You can use these colors but we want you to add some texture to your creations! I recently treated myself to a webcam to make videos. Today is my first video! Bare with me please it is my first and I am still learning.

Today's card features the colors and texture.

If you watched the video, you will see all the textures I talked about. This card kinda reminds me of the book "Pat the Bunny". You just want to touch it and feel it.

AAA cards is having a a challenge that fits my card,so I had to play along: wordplay.

I hope you enjoyed my first video, hopefully they will improve. Hope to see you all over at the House of Cards for this month's color/texture challenge!
